You haven't heard much about the area around Heiligenhafen yet? Okay, then let us enlighten you a little: Not only is there the beautiful Baltic Sea with its marvellous white beach, but also fantastic dunes, which are otherwise more familiar from the North Sea coast. The 230-hectare nature reserve around the Graswarder peninsula is a true paradise for animals and plants. From March to May, over 40 species of birds find a home there. If you are more interested in architecture, you will be delighted by the colourful fishermen's houses on Graswarder. Heiligenhafen also has a quaint town centre to offer, with its historic, lovingly restored buildings inviting you to take a stroll.
